Either you are repeating someone else patterns or design your own patterns. We add our own personal touch every time we crochet. I can never make my own design twice the same. I love tweaking my own design. It is just the natural process of creating/crocheting.
Be creative is not enough to thrive in this business!
If may sound harsh to you but it is the truth! I see many artists have to quit their dream job just because they don’t find the right system/method for themselves. And I am not saying that my method is the only thing that works! I am saying that we as a creator/artist/crocheter we need to learn more than just hook and yarn if we want to make money out of it.

About me
Some of you already know I am a full-time crochet designer/business owner. I have been in this business full-time since 2018. However, my crochet business started in 2012. I thought it was a business when I got a couple of ching-ching sounds from Etsy now and then. Little did I know that my business today would generate much more. But don’t get me wrong, it was absolutely a good start.
2017 I self-published my first pattern on Ravelry & Etsy. 6 months later, I got my first collaboration deal with a yarn shop on Etsy, who is still sending me yarn support until today.
2018 I decided to do it full time. I told myself. If I want to do it, I will do it like a pro! Meaning, I will learn every curve and turn to make it work for me!
2019 I got featured in Happily Hooked Magazine.
I was interviewed by amazing writer Kathryn Vercillo who wrote the book “Crochet Saved My Life“
2020 is the BEST year of my business!!! This year, I doubled my pattern sales income, and I get paid to design for companies I believe in. Sometimes, I have to tell the companies to be on my waiting list, and that is such an awesome feeling to know my worth. I learn to put my energy into something that matters to me and business.
My tips to you if you want to run a meaningful and sustainable crochet business is to think about THEM, not YOURSELF!
I know it sounds contradictory because we want to run a profitable business, and now I ask you to think about THEM! But it is the only way the World goes round (at least my World). I am not asking you to work for free. I am asking you to practice giving. When you learn to give and help solve problems, you will always get what you want and more. IT IS LAW!
